Multi-skilled Project/Manufacturing Engineer Job Specification

Candidate must have a strong but wide ranging technical skill set as acting as the single technical point of contact for the company they may fulfill many roles. Including but not limited to the below:

  •   Acting as a point of contact for customers on design led product enquiries, costing projects, dealing with designers and toolmakers, implementing new products with manufacturing, defining and implementing product testing criteria.
  •   Providing technical support to sales staff, specifying and testing new products, qualifying suppliers and defining the goods-in inspection criteria. Accompanying Sales staff on site visits to assist with technical aspects of the sales process.
  • Working with the Production manager and manufacturing staff to continually improve manufacturing processes & reduce costs. Defining and collating information as required to determine where manufacturing improvements could be of benefit. Defining, sourcing and introducing new equipment based on strong justifications
  • Working with Quality inspectors to ensure products are inspected to appropriate standards, dealing with customers on quality issues, taking a lead role in maintaining the companies ISO accreditation.
  •   Overseeing maintenance activities, liaising with outside maintenance providers when internal staff are unable to resolve problems.
  • Working closely with the company's senior management team to ensure all the technical aspects of running/growing the company are met.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, willing to define and implement projects on their own. Happy to research and learn new skills as required to perform the role and who is willing to get hands on as and when needed.

This is a wide ranging but interesting role working for a growing SME with a wide range of products and/or services on offer to customers. We invite applicants from a range of backgrounds, but electrical experience would be an advantage.

A minimum of 5 year's experience within an engineering or technical role is expected.

Salary will be dependent on experience and will be taken on a case by case basis.
